Malad postmaster arrested on drug charges
Man not linked to post office robbery
The postmaster in Malad has been arrested on drug charges.
Bradley Hunter, 28, was arrested Thursday on two charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without privileges, all misdemeanors. He was being held on a $3,500 bail.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has not linked Hunter to the armed robbery of a local post office that prompted a lockdown of banks and schools in Malad on Wednesday.
"There are a lot of rumors that we arrested him for the robbery of the Malad post office, but that is not true," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "That investigation is still active and open, and we are working with the U.S. postal inspectors in that investigation."
