POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - The local eatery known as "The Gathering Place" is closing its doors after eight years.
Efresh on Center Street is closing up shop this week.
Efresh is open for lunch and sees a regular lunch crowd, but the restaurant is most popular with the late-night crowd.
Emily Fisher, Efresh owner, said since they opened business was good, but the last couple of years it has slowly dropped and so it's time for a change.
"There were so many restaurants that came into town really quickly and people decided to go there and people just being a local little business, we felt that hit," Fisher said.
After two years of feeling that hit, Fisher said they decided to close the brick and mortar store on Center Street.
But Fisher said it's not goodbye forever. The next adventure for Efresh is a food truck - coming in spring 2018.
Fisher said they want to be able to travel to things like fairs and other events and bring increase business that way, rather than relying on people to find them.
Fisher said food trucks seem to be the going thing right now and seem to be doing well so they are making that the Efresh.
"It's really hard to say goodbye to downtown," Fisher said. "This has been our home for a decade and we love everybody that comes down late night and during the day we have gained so many loyal customers. And it's really sad to see it go but we're going to do something new and we're not leaving those customers behind."
Fisher said they don't have a location yet for where the food truck will be set up. She said there will be some menu changes with the truck. They will still do the popular fries and sandwiches. They will also be adding some new things to the menu, such as hamburgers.
Efresh will be open through the weekend. The restaurant on Center Street will close up shop for good at 3 a.m. Sunday morning, Nov. 5. During the rest of this week, Efresh will also be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch customers.
