(CNN) -

Hillary Clinton called the Supreme Court's ruling throwing out the Obamacare contraceptive mandate for certain businesses "very troubling."

"This is a really bad slippery slope," Clinton said Monday on the heels of the 5-4 decision, which said for-profit companies cannot be required to pay for specific types of contraceptives for their employees.

"I disagree with the reasoning as well as the conclusion," she said at the Aspen Ideas Forum in Colorado. "I find it deeply disturbing that we are going in that direction."

Clinton said the ruling potentially opens the door to companies to reject coverage of other things based on religious beliefs.

"There are companies...that don't believe in blood transfusions," she said.

"That's a religious belief that people hold. So does that mean if you have a need for a blood transfusion, your insurance company doesn't have to cover it?"
