URGENT - house food stamps
(CNN) -- The Republican-led U.S. House approved legislation on Thursday that would cut $40 billion from food stamps, which would force some 14 million people from that program over the next decade. The measure, however, has little chance of passing the Democratic-controlled Senate and President Barack Obama has promised to veto it if it ever reaches his desk.
