REXBURG, Idaho -

A Rexburg woman is behind bars after police said she hurt an officer.

Lori J. Humphries, 38, was arrested for felony battery of an officer and obstruction.

Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis said police were called to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of Cul De Sac. When police arrived, they found Humphries' husband had been drinking and was arguing with her and her father in the street.

Lewis said Humphries was not intoxicated, but refused to leave when officers tried to split the couple up. According to police, an officer was struck in the face as he attempted to arrest and handcuff the woman.

The officer suffered abrasions on his face.
