School districts in eastern Idaho are asking for voters' help to cover maintenance and building costs Tuesday.
Teton School District 401
The district is seeking seeking a $19 million bond to replace the Victor and Driggs elementary schools, plus additions and upgrades to two other elementary schools in Teton Valley.
Madison School District 321
The district is seeking an operational levy of nearly $2.51 million. It says it needs this levy to pass because the current, 10-year levy, approved in 2005, will be ending this year. It also cited recent growth – in the past decade, Madison School District has added an average of 100 students per year.
Swan Valley School District 92
The school district is seeking a plant facilities reserve fund levy of $40,000 per year for five years. The money would be used toward construction, maintenance and improvement of school facilities. The district said the money would be used for the following purposes:
- To buy a new school bus.
- To refinish the gym floor.
- To resurface the bus barn floor.
- To use toward ongoing maintenance of the plant facility, like heating system heating repairs and buying coal.
