Tatevik Aprikyan

Tatevik Aprikyan joins Local News 8 from her hometown of Seattle and is thrilled to fulfill her dream of being a reporter.

Tatevik moved to Seattle when she was 5 years old from Yerevan, Armenia. She speaks Armenian, Russian, French and English.

Before moving to Idaho, Tatevik worked as an intern for KING-TV in Seattle where she was given the exciting opportunity to learn about story-telling from the journalists she grew up watching. Prior to KING-TV, Tatevik studied broadcast journalism at Columbia College Chicago and worked as an intern for the "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York City.

Tatevik got her start in journalism at 16 as an intern for the National Public Radio affiliate, KUOW in Seattle. She worked on the morning news talk show as a producer as well as a contributing reporter for youth-produced segments. In addition to her radio experience, Tatevik spent a couple years working in print journalism as a columnist for King County Journal Newspapers, where she ran a bi-weekly column on youth-related issues and as a reporter for a lifestyle arts and entertainment magazine in Seattle.

Tatevik also spent some time working outside of journalism in the staffing industry and as a financial analyst. Journalism is where her true passion lies and she feels fortunate to join Local News 8 and tell the stories of eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. Tatevik is also an avid tennis player and enjoys reading and writing in her spare time.
