Winter Weather Advisories Expanded to SE Highlands

EASTERN IDAHO (KIFI/KIDK) - The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued Winter Weather Advisories for Southeastern Idaho. 

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT

TONIGHT TO 5 AM MST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total

  Snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches valleys, with up to 10

  inches in the mountains. Some higher peaks and ridge may

  approach 18 inches.

* WHERE...Caribou Highlands and Wasatch Mountains/Idaho Portion.

  Includes Emigration Pass, Georgetown Summit, Geneva Summit,

  Border Summit and Fish Creek Summit

* WHEN...Midnight to 5 AM Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at

  times and patchy blowing Snow. Reduce driving speeds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will

cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered

roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT

SATURDAY ABOVE 6500 FEET...

* WHAT...Snow causing difficult travel conditions. Additional snow

  accumulations of 3 to 8 inches, with higher elevations from

  Monida Pass through Island Park potentially near 12 inches.

* WHERE...Sawtooth Mountains, Upper Snake Highlands, Big and

  Little Wood River Region and Lost River/Pahsimeroi.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at

  times. Reduce driving speeds.

 

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow occurring. Travel will be very difficult to
  impossible. Additional snow accumulations of 15 to 25 inches,
  with localized amounts up to 32 inches, are expected.

* WHERE...Yellowstone National Park.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in
  visibility at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are
