Authorities say a woman who was trying to evade police was injured when the car she was driving crashed into a train and then was struck by a second train.
The incident unfolded around 8:20 a.m. Sunday when police in Woods Cross were called to a home on a report of a domestic dispute.
An officer tried to pull over a 29-year-old woman believed to have been involved. But police say the woman took off, at times driving at speeds topping 100 mph.
Woods Cross Detective Adam Osoro says the woman drove under a crossing arm at a railroad crossing and collided with a southbound train. The impact pushed the vehicle onto another track, where it was hit by another train.
The woman survived and faces possible criminal charges.
