Wyo. Game & Fish Commission bans motors on Snake River
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has approved a ban on motorized watercraft along the Snake River in Jackson Hole during the summer.
The ban prohibits motors south of Grand Teton National Park between April 1 and Labor Day weekend. Under new rules, other personal motorized watercraft, such as Jet Skies, are banned year-round.
Multiperson motorized craft less than 115 horsepower will be allowed between the South Park Bridge and West Table Boat Launch from the week after Labor Day until March 31.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports that motorized craft already are banned in the national park and in the Snake River Canyon.
Most of the people who spoke at Monday's meeting supported the ban.
