IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- The War Bonnet Roundup Rodeo, an Idaho Falls tradition dating back to 1912, has been canceled for the second straight year because of a lack of sponsorship money.War Bonnet Steering committee member Bob Skinner said the decision to cancel was made Tuesday, in hopes that the rodeo will be able to come back next year, a year that will mark the 100th anniversary of the rodeo. The rodeo was canceled last year after losing money for three straight summers.Skinner said it costs about $200,000 to put on the rodeo, and in the end, the organizers were about $50,000 or $60,000 short.Skinner is confident they will able to bring back the rodeo next year, especially since they have a good head start in the money department. When asked if the committee planned on the rodeo being back in 2011, Skinner replied, "Yes sir!"
