A day ahead of the start of NBA free agency, the Philadelphia 76ers cleared a roster spot by waiving James Anderson.
The shooting guard started 68 games last season and played 80 overall, averaging 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.
Anderson, 29, was the 20th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Spurs. He spent 2 1/2 seasons with San Antonio before finishing 2012-13 with the Houston Rockets. The Sixers claimed him off waivers in July 2013.
Over his four-season career, Anderson is averaging 6.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. He only made six starts before last season.
