Adams takes Firth A.D. job

Former Firth basketball coach Scott Adams was hired as the Cougars' athletic director, Adams confirmed to Sports Line Tuesday. Adams won seven 2A state championships in 13 years at the helm of the Cougars, but he stepped down in March.

Adams told Sports Line he hopes to watch his daughters compete for the Cougars more in his new role as they finish high school. He noted he plans to continue coaching the Firth baseball team for at least one more year.

Adams said former athletic director Roger Harrison will remain in the district as the junior high athletic director.

Art Poulson was hired to replace Adams as the basketball coach. Adams says he'll do anything to support Poulson, but it will be from behind the scenes in order to prevent any confusion as Poulson installs his program.
