10 DANICA PATRICK, Chevrolet

Team: Stewart-Haas Racing

WHERE SHE STANDS: 28th. Must win the Richmond race to make the Chase.

RICHMOND RECORD: Best finish in three starts is 29th.

LOOKING AHEAD: Patrick laughingly said, "the first thing I think of when going to Richmond is we have sucked there each and every time. So we are going there with a different approach, a different approach from what we will need out of the car to be good on Saturday night, and let's hope it will work."

LOOKING BACK: Patrick was all smiles after finishing a career-best sixth at Atlanta. "I was hoping for a top-five, but sixth place is definitely something to be happy about," said Patrick, who started fourth on the final restart. The finish was the second best ever for a woman driver in a NASCAR Cup race. Sara Christian holds the record with a fifth-place finish on Oct. 2, 1949 at Heidelberg (Pa.) Raceway. "I had one run where I felt like I was playing a video game out there," said Patrick. "I was just driving around the top side of everybody. It was a little more human-like after that. The guys had a really awesome stop that last time so I could restart seventh (on the first of the two green-white-checkered attempts) and get out of that mess on the front straight."

ETC.: Patrick feels the team has performed a lot better than her finishes in the last couple of months. "Since that solid run at Kansas (where she finished seventh), honestly we've been so much faster and qualified so much better, it's just where something fails or I make a mistake or there's an accident," said Patrick. "There were so many things that kept putting us out of contention and wrecking our weekend. This weekend (at Atlanta), we didn't have that. I am just so happy for the team. We have had pretty fast cars for a while now and not really great finishes for it. So this is for everybody and GoDaddy."
