Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey underwent hip surgery Monday and running back Knowshon Moreno will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery this week, according to reports Monday. reported Pouncey is expected to miss at least three months and Moreno will miss four to five weeks.

Moreno, after a career year in Denver last year with 1,038 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, signed a one-year $3 million contract with the Dolphins this offseason, with $1.25 million guaranteed.

The Dolphins hope to have Moreno back in time for the start of the preseason, but Pouncey is expected to be sidelined for the start of the regular season.

Pouncey tore the labrum in his hip sometime during the Dolphins' OTA sessions. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Pouncey was the lone holdover from the Dolphins' 2013 starting offensive line.

Pouncey's status for the season opener was uncertain because of his involvement with the Dolphins' bullying scandal in 2013.

Pouncey, Richie Incognito and John Jerry were named by the Ted Wells report as the three individuals who created a bullying work environment for former teammate Jonathan Martin, and a team trainer.

---The New England Patriots are targeting a Week 1 return for injured tight end Rob Gronkowski, according to

Gronkowski has been slowed by injuries that past two seasons. He broke a collarbone in 2012 and tore an ACL in 2013. The injuries limited him to 17 games during that span.

Gronkowski played seven games last season before the ACL tear. It is possible he could be back by training camp next month, but the Patriots reportedly do not want to push it.

---The Patriots signed first-round draft pick, defensive lineman Dominique Easley.

New England selected Easley No. 29 overall out of Florida. Easley started in 26 of 32 games in four years with the Gators, collecting 81 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.

The Patriots also signed rookie free agent offensive lineman Chris Martin.

---The Chicago Bears signed five-time Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson and tight end Jeron Mastrud to one-year contracts.

Wilson, a Pro Bowler in 2006 and 2008-11, started 162 of 181 games over 12 seasons (2001-12) with the Arizona Cardinals. Wilson, 34, tore his Achilles in the preseason finale last year with the New England Patriots and spent the season on injured reserve.

Mastrud appeared in 52 games with 18 starts over four seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2010-12) and Oakland Raiders (2013), grabbing seven receptions for 96 yards. Last season,

---Bears defensive end Cornelius Washington was arrested Friday night for speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to Georgia TV station WDRW.

Washington was pulled over on Highway 80 in Georgia and taken to McDuffie County jail. Police released no other details.

---The New Orleans Saints signed linebacker Todd Davis to a three-year contract and waived injured cornerback A.J. Davis.

Todd Davis (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) comes to New Orleans after playing at Sacramento State from 2010-13.

A.J. Davis was originally signed by New Orleans following the 2012 draft. In two seasons with the team, the former Jacksonville State player appeared in one game on special teams. He spent 2013 on injured reserve.
