Bengal Round-Up Rodeo Kicks Off

Bengal Round-Up kicks off

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - The annual Bengal Round-Up Rodeo kicked off Friday evening at the Bannock County Fairgrounds.

11 schools from around the Rocky Mountain region are participating in the Idaho State University hosted rodeo. This year it will feature everything from bareback and breakaway to calf roping and steer wrestling.

ISU head rodeo coach Kindee Wilson says that, aside from the competition, she's looking forward to putting on an event that all the kids look forward to each year.

"Something that's fun that there's some activities after the rodeo that they want to partake in too," Wilson explained.

"So they can intermingle and kind of meet everybody from different universities instead of staying with their school each weekend and kind of staying cliquey. It just lets everyone meet everyone and meet new friends pretty much."

The rodeo runs through Saturday.
