Police asking for help searching for suspect

BLACKFOOT (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 5/12/19 12:07 P.M.: Police are searching for a man who was able to run away from the end of a pursuit, Saturday night in Bingham county.

 An Idaho State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop heading north on I-15 at milepost 77 near Fort Hall.

35-year-old Idaho Falls resident Richard A. Burns fled the traffic stop in a 2018 Ford Fusion and crashed the car in Blackfoot.

Burns ran from the scene of the crash. 

Burns is considered armed and dangerous.

If you see him do not approach him, and contact law enforcement immediately.

27-year-old Jennifer A. McCammon of Blackfoot who was also in the vehicle was taken into custody for drug trafficking.

Idaho State Police was assisted by the Bannock County Sheriff's Office, the Bingham County Sheriff's Office, the Fort Hall Police Department, and the Blackfoot Police Department.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police are currently searching for a suspect in Blackfoot after a high-speed chase ended with the suspect's car hitting a tree. 

Police are focusing their search in the neighborhood near Center St. and Johnson.

The male suspect fled the scene on foot headed west.

Officers now using dogs to search for the suspect who they say may be dangerous.

The chase started in Bannock  County on Interstate 15.

Police arrested the woman that was with him.
