POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - The two California teenagers charged with murdering 87-year-old Arlyne Koehler in March both pled not guilty on Monday.
Isaac Rodriguez-Romero, 17, did not enter a plea, so his plea is automatically entered as 'not guilty.' Rodruiguez-Romero waived his right to a preliminary hearing, unlike Dustin Alfaro, 18.
After Alfaro's preliminary hearing, which confirmed there was enough probable cause for a trial, he pled not guilty during his arraignment on Monday.
Both cases will have a status hearing later this year, though the trials and courtroom appearances will be separate. Both teens are being tried as adults for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Alfaro and Rodriguez-Romero are accused of stabbing and killing Koehler in her home on March 18.
